Why does the type of meter matter?

Whether you have an older style meter or a new smart meter, we can supply your energy. 

Some meters have slight differences, for example some are single rate and some are 2 rate (Commonly known as Economy 7). We will be able to ascertain the type of meter you have once we match it to industry data.

The benefit of smart meters mean we can obtain meter readings on your behalf directly from your meter - making your bills as accurate as possible. Smart meters use a secure communication network to automatically send your actual energy usage to your supplier. If you have a smart meter you don't need to rely on estimated energy bills or provide your own regular readings.

If you have an older style meter, we will need to ask you to provide meter readings from time to time to ensure we are billing you as accurately as possible.
